Advertising Shul for the High Holidays

September 21, 2012 – 12:18 pm2 Comments

The Yamim Noraim (High Holidays) can leave some with a feeling of dread. This advert, from a previous year, cleverly identifies an issue (albeit more relevant to the USA than Australia) that afflicts some potential shul goers, and humorously addresses it.  And it features an old favourite in Larry David.

Enjoy, and G’mar Chatimah Tovah!

  • Fantastic. Reminds me of the classic joke in http://www.thejc.com/comment-and-debate/comment/56452/praying-surely-not-shul

  • Doodie Ringelblum says:

It’s my family tradition to attend a different shul every year for Kol Nidrey. The only time I was refused entry was indeed at Temple Beth Israel (albeit I was accomodated at an overflow service).
