Galus is looking to build our team for 2015.

Who we are

Galus Australis is a fully independent Australian Jewish media outlet. We exist to host discussion and debate about local issues and to foster community culture by reporting on local events.

What we want

Galus is a user-driven publication, citizen journalism at the local level. We are building a team of dedicated volunteers, and we want you to be involved!

What you gain

As a Galus volunteer, you will deepen your connection to the community and take part in defining the community into the future. Galus Australis is a manifestation of the strong Jewish culture of contemplation and debate. We all know the importance of having a say – and Galus is where you get to do it!

What’s involved

Contributors

Once a month you will receive a content list that contains writing prompts and ideas for articles. If any of these grab you, send your pitch to the editor! If your pitch is approved, you will write up your article and send it to the editorial team for consideration. If approved, your article will be published on Galus. There is no minimum or maximum number of articles you need to produce in order to remain on the contributor list. And you can certainly pitch an article that is not listed on the content list!

Columnists

Once a month you will produce an article for Galus around a pre-established theme. Columnists are guaranteed regular publication of their work, and have the capacity to serialise if they wish to do so.

Marketing

For those Mad Men fans out there, we are seeking talented accounts executives to grow our advertising revenue stream.

Web design

Are you a WordPress expert with a flair for graphics and a love of independent media? Join Galus and seize the opportunity to develop your skills and showcase your work!

Please send all expressions of interest to editorial@galusaustralis.com.

Please note that all roles are voluntary at present.
